Answer me 1997

This is a K-Drama named in korean as응답하라 1997, and the Romanization is Eungdabhala 1997. It has 16 episodes. It belongs to a new network in South Korea. TVN, which in a few years it has working they have showed stories that other networks have rejected.

This drama has two particularities that are different from other dramas, each episode is about one year in the life of the characters. The story begins at 1997 and end in 2012. Although is not accurately to say that ends because it really begins in 2012 when ex-classmates from high school are having a reunion, there Siwon and her friends remembered what happened to them since 1997 when some of them met for the first time, that is because Yoonje is a Siwon’s childhood friend.

The  other thing i show they mark technology aspects as years are passing by. Since cellphones started to work, till internet, computers and Discs reproducers.
Siwon is a girl that is obsessed with K-pop band H.O.T and in the development of the story even though is really deep because it tells us about family issues all the time the story has the company of humor for the fan girl.

Yoonje is a handsome guy, intelligent and good in sports. Inside of school he has a secret, his brother is one of the teachers as the same as him  is very handsome and has a brilliant past, someone how could be whoever he wanted it to be. So everyone in the school wonders how someone like him chose to be a simple teacher.

Other of the things is that TVN dared to show an element that other networks avoid in South Korea. The story has a gay character. And no to make fun of him, but to show us how he struggles with relationships, how he suffers and how he gets disappointed. The Transition from wounded soul into an adult who has scars for love.

These complications in the story become mature as episodes pass by, because years are also passing in the story.

I really recommended it, because even though is from a different culture, you can always feel related with the human condition, with those moments in teenager years and all mistakes we made to become adults.

On my particular point of view I felt very identified with a lot of situations, It made me laugh and cry.

This is the post with more views this month.

Cult film.

Which is the worst hell in this world?... Lots of people will answer war, society. But no other place aggregate all hells like: School. This film begins when Cady, daughter of zoologist parents, has been raised at home, and not just that, she has been living in Africa, in a wild environment, with animals and researching. She arrives to the city because her parents have a new job. The change would like to be really different, but the true is that she goes out from a savage place to enter a more savage one.

Why someone suffers in school?... no to fit, who decides who is in and who is out?... that’s right! The Queen Bee. In this film, that queen has a name: Regina George. And yes, she is that girl, that you can hate and love at the same time. All praises and all vile insults are for her. Cady in a macabre game to fit, ends up following the instructions of her first friends: Janis and Demian, to get revenge from Regina George.

Cady, gets to be Regina’s friend and part of her entourage, and in this way she planned to ruin her. First, taken away her friends, her boyfriend and her hot body. But with this, she may end becoming in the last thing she wants: the new queen bee.

Opinion:

The story goes further of a simple girls’ movie. It’s a lot more than that. It’s to enter to society’s psychology.  A hypocritical society that is compared with an animal kingdom. This film is full of good quotes, that makes you wonder and think in deepest issues. It’s cynical. But the best in this movie are the characters, well defined, well achieved, and they bring all the life to the story. None of the actions are forced, they look really natural. Just beware, because after watch it your mean side, your Regina Gorge side may turn on.

Celebrating our second month... this is the post with more views in the last month, hope you enjoy it

Those Japanese’s cartoons

Today, I wanted to talk about something that was in first place what made me feel some confidence in order to write. So many years ago, from Japan arrive to Mexico something that people name “Japanese’s cartoons”. As a kid I watched them as they broadcast them, but It was until later that I knew those cartoons as people named them, were something more. They are animes or Japanese’s animations. And that those animes are based on mangas (Japanese’s comics)

Maybe you are wondering why Am I talking about it?, well, all my life I’ve been found on writing, but It was only when I wrote a fanfiction (yes, a lot of writers have written some of them) and then I realized I have skills in develop more complex and very long stories.

But, why did I write a fanfiction from an anime? Well, first let me tell you, that an Anime is not a simple cartoon, there is a lot of genders, from topics as well the public is made for. Lots of them are far away to be for children. The ones are for kids are named “kodomo”, this gender is the one that could enter into cartoon category, From teenagers public animes are separate if is directed to Boys or Girls. Why the difference?  Well for teens boys is “shonen” where the lead is taken for a boy and it can include magic elements as well as sports. For girls, is “Shojo”, commonly the lead is taken for girls and develop romantic elements. But there is not all, there are for mature audience. For men is “seinen”. Where topics are more mature. In them they talk about death, wars, politic plots… while for women is “Josei”, where the story is about job situatitons, romantic relationships and even marriage situations.

This is the basic classification. Because is also a divided by topic, there is even a gender that is for +18, something like XXX movies.

The first cartoons to arrive to Mexico were shojos, there were stories made for teenager, but because there were animations, all children have Access to them. At difference from a cartoon, those animes had a typical argument from a novel, a complex development ant talking about some issues unknown from certain kids such as death, honor and sacrifice. We have to understand  those first animes were Occidental Stories from Oriental point of view. Sometimes these point of view were shocking and understandable for young kids.

As I was growing up, I began to understand some of those things. Something inside of me was born. I wanted to write… so I wrote fanfictions. That gave me a lot of confidence. Publish online fanfictions, and to have readers to give a lot of support, made me think that write was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

Personally I think those stories have influenced me in a way that even though I’m not writing some story I can give the profound and the complexity such as animes have. Until this moment I continue enjoying reading mangas and watching animes.

I don’t know if someday I will free myself from spell that anime put on me. And I’m not sure if I want to be freed either.
